I am especially grateful for the leadership of Pastor Russell – for his careful preparation, his calm and confident presence as a worship leader, his insightful and thought-provoking sermons, and his sense of humor.
Worship is central at Hilltop. If we had no other reason to exist as a church, worship by itself would be sufficient. There is a sense in which we give our best to God in worship, but, much more significantly, God gives everything to us in worship – through worship, God strengthens our faith, supports us for the ups and downs of life, and empowers us for ministry to the community and beyond.
Our style of worship varies somewhat from service to service and from season to season, but we always focus on Word and Sacrament, hearing from God’s word and celebrating Holy Communion. For the most part, our worship services are traditional, but by no means stuffy; our services include a good sense of the human touch.
We welcome everyone to worship with us fully. In particular, we welcome everyone to Holy Communion – the only requirement to commune at Hilltop is that you need to be a sinner in need of grace.
